Great Lakes Western RR -- Carbondale

Carbondale, located in South Illinois, is  the site of  a coal mine and coke oven.  Coal mined here is mostly bound for Inland steel at Calumet City. Coke is actually derived from the steel making process.  There is steady traffic between Carbondale and Calumet City.

The status of structures in Carbondale is as follows:

Construction Status:  As of November 2007, Carbondale has track, wiring, buildings and some mountain scenery.  Mike Blevins is working on the mountain trackage scenery around Carbondale.  He has added some rock castings.  David Nebergall will be kit-bashing the coke oven facility.
