Great Lakes Western RR -- Calumet Yards,
Chicago (staging), Milwaukee (staging)

Chicago is represented on this layout as a five track staging area.  Milwaukee is also represented by a five track staging area.  During an operating session trains will arrive and depart from these tracks.  During general running, they will just be used for train storage.

Also along this wall is the lead portion of the Calumet City yard  and  a steel rolling mill that is a destination for hot steel loads.

Repair and test tracks as well as a DCC programming track are also part of the staging area.  These have been constructed and are operational.

The status of structure along this wall is as follows:

Construction Status: As of November 2007, staging yards in both Chicago and Milwaukee have been tracked and wired.  Some background painting was done by Gary Gelzer and Linda Petrarca.
